🌱I have successfully launched a Kickstarter enamel pin project in May 2021.
🌱After failing many design interviews, I landed an entry-level designer role at Mooc Creative in October 2020.
🌱I finally decided to keep doing anime art as a convention artist in September 2020. 😍I have launched a headquarter of my online shop.
🌱I took part-time commission at Ecosolver as a marketing graphic designer, so I have gained more social media design skills, especially for Instagram and Facebook.
🌱I was volunteering at MySoulTeam as a UX designer and researcher, so I have gained more understandings on UX designer's daily routine.
🌱I joined a virtual hackathon named Cooperathon that is based in Montreal. I have learned collaborative product design experience in October 2020.
🌱I did one-year art hiatus from June 2019 to September 2020.; I was actually seriously thinking about if I should continue it. 😅
🌱I landed a design internship and have successfully completed it in 2019 summer. I also went to sell my anime art in IFF Toronto (International Fan Festival Toronto) in 2019. 😉 I was really depressed, because I did not make big sales.😔
🌱From 2016 to 2019, I worked as an art instructor for kids and teens. I was good at demonstrating my drawing and painting skills; I was also a good communicator with younger generation.
🌱 Of course, I had restaurant working experience. I worked at Eggsmart near my home as a waitressing when I was a teen.
🌱I also enrolled a few online classes, such as IBM Design Thinking, Social Media Marketing course from Udemy, Web Coding course from Codecademy, Product Design course from Udacity, and UI/UX Design course from Coursera. (Sorry, I cannot link to all of my certificates. Udacity and Coursera's free classes does not offer certificates. 😅) It helps me to understand and study the most popular skills and knowledge from design industry.
🌱I enrolled a Game Art program at George Brown College, but I thought I am only interested in art side, not coding side, so I quitted after I finished general classes. Although in 2021, I do have few game companies asking me to join them as a UI artist, it was struggling to find a game intern job when my skills were crappy in 2015.
🌱I have completed a Bachelor of Design at Ocad (Ontario College of Art and Design University) from 2016 to 2020 and I strongly believe my art skills are improving a lot during 4-year art education.
🌱If you are interested in my last year's painting and thesis at Ocad. Please click the Thesis and Painting link. (Spoiler: I do not like my last year thesis. The topic is too dark and deep; I think I cannot handle the serious and dark theme.)
🌱 I loved digital painting and drawing fan art when she was 13. (THE EARLIEST ART I CLOUD FIND IN MY DRIVE) The earliest motivations were Disney animation, Japanese animes, and Hollywood movies. I was mostly self-teaching drawing and painting before I went to art school.
🌱 I like spicy BBQ fish. ☺️
🌱I like watching animes and high-rated movies.
🌱My husbando is Kageyama Tobio from Haikyuu!!. 😚
🌱I am awkward and introversive. It takes me long time to recover from crowded space. 😫
